Home Care Services

Provides trained and licensed staff that help with personal care, transportation, errands, homemaking, medication reminders, and respite for family caregivers. Our service area includes Yakima, Kittitas, Benton, Franklin, Columbia, Garfield, Asotin, and Walla Walla counties. We also serve the Yakama Indian Nation and Nez Perce county in Idaho.

Meals on Wheels Home Delivered Meals Assessor
Meals on Wheels, Mid-Columbia has an opportunity for an part-time Home Delivered Meals Assessor. The Home Delivered Meals Assessor will be responsible for making assessments to determine eligibility for home-delivered meal services and completing all documentation as required.  Hours of work will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience working closely with people in a customer service and/or human services type capacity
  • Six months experience working with general office equipment.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Substitute Meal Site Assistant or Transporter
Meals on Wheels, Mid-Columbia has an opportunity for an On-Call Substitute Meal Site Assistant or Transporter.  Will assist with various aspects of meal site operation, including food safety, preparation, packaging and service of meals with compliance to established standards of health, nutrition and sanitation.  Transporter duties include driving a cargo van, loading and unloading, and delivering food and supplies, all with the attention to food safety. Must be at least 21 years of age with prior experience in the food service industry. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on a repetitive basis.  Additional requirements include the ability to read and write English, obtain a Food Handler's Permit and have an acceptable background and driving record along with proof of insurance.
